The gas burner does light the charcoal, but there still is a good 25-30 minute warm up before ready for cooking. However, that being said, nothing beats the taste of food cooked over charcoal. This is a nice grill and I enjoy grilling with it.

The grill provides the option to use the propane starter, but you can also ignite it the traditional way. The 2 Char-Basket charcoal fuel holders make lighting and clean-up easy. We love the large work table and the charcoal bin holder saves use some space in the garage. We recommend getting the optional grill cover.

This is a wonderful grill. If you get a charcoal chimney to go over the propane flame, you can be cooking in less than 10 minutes. This is about the same time it would take me to heat up a gas grill.

This is a great grill. The propane lighting is my favorite feature since it eliminates the need to use lighter fluid. This combination with the charcoal lets the food retain a good barbeque flavor. Nice work surface and storage components. Just be sure to follow the directions carefully when assembling.
